Impulse EV8, EV16 and EV164 mufflers reduce noise with all vehicles
The EV8, EV16 and EV164 mufflers reduce noise with NO restriction to gas flow with all vehicles from standard, performance to supercharged. The compact size of the EV muffler allows it to be fitted close or further away from the engine to effectively tune the exhaust sound to different levels. Its compact size also allows fitting additional EV16 or EV164 mufflers to any part of the exhaust system to further reduce noise. Also, the EV muffler is so effective in reducing noise that free flow mufflers may be used to further increase power with no increase in noise.

Impulse EV16 and EV164 mufflers work alone but should be used with a conventional muffler
The EV16 or EV164 muffler used alone substantially reduces noise with race or street vehicles not able to use bulky mufflers due to limited room under the chassis or low ground clearance. However, for street vehicles the EV16 and EV164 mufflers should be used with a typical oval type muffler to further reduce noise. For example, the EV16 and EV164 mufflers are so effective as a secondary muffler that they further reduce noise by 5dB (36%). This requires using a secondary large reverse flow muffler to reduce noise by the same 5dB.

Impulse EV8 muffler reduces toxic emissions to near ZERO with vehicles that use a catalytic converter
The EV8 muffler reduces toxic emissions up to 99% when fitted in front of the catalytic converter of standard, performance or supercharged fuel injected vehicles. The EV8 muffler works so effectively with the catalytic converter in reducing toxic emissions to near zero, it allows the catalytic converter to be moved 2.5 metres (8 feet) further away from the engine and produce the same results. The EV8 muffler also substantially reduces cold start emissions by reducing the time from 15 minutes to 2 minutes it takes the catalytic converter to reach the high temperature needed to work. A further benefit of the EV8 muffler is that it protects the catalytic converter from many factors that easily damage and render it useless. This prevents the catalytic converter from failing and substantially increasing pollution. For example, the EV8 muffler is so effective in protecting the catalytic converter from any damage it allows the catalytic converter to also be fitted to carbureted vehicles with NO failure. Impulse EV16 and EV164 mufflers substantially reduce toxic emissions with vehicles that do NOT use a catalytic converter
The EV16 and EV164 mufflers reduce toxic emissions up to 80% with standard, performance or supercharged carbureted, fuel injected, gas or diesel vehicles that do NOT use a catalytic converter. This is about the same reduction in toxic emissions produced by vehicles fitted with a working catalytic converter. However, the EV16 and EV164 mufflers are such effective pollution control devices that additional EV16 or EV164 mufflers may be fitted to the exhaust system to further reduce toxic emissions up to 99%. Also, the EV16 and EV164 mufflers substantially reduce cold start emissions whereas vehicles fitted with a catalytic converter substantially increase cold start emissions.

Negative Pressure Supercharging burns fuel so efficiently in the engines combustion chamber that it makes carbureted, fuel injected, gas or diesel vehicles with NO catalytic converter reduce toxic emissions to a lower level than today's vehicles fitted with a catalytic converter. However, by adding the EV16 or EV164 muffler to the exhaust system of a vehicle that uses Negative Pressure Supercharging and NO catalytic converter it further reduces toxic emissions up to 99%. Also, the EV16 and EV164 mufflers substantially reduce cold start emissions whereas vehicles fitted with a catalytic converter substantially increase cold start emissions. This eliminates the need to use expensive and fail prone catalytic converters that do NOT even work for the first 15 minutes from a cold start.

The EV8, EV16 and EV164 mufflers produce more power with all vehicles from standard, performance to supercharged. The EV muffler is so effective as a power booster it even produces more power with the restrictive exhaust systems used by new vehicles. The compact size of the EV muffler allows it to be fitted after the exhaust manifold or header where it produces more power by increasing the gas speed. However, additional EV16 or EV164 mufflers may be fitted to the middle or end of the exhaust system to increase the gas speed at these points and further increase power.
